My One year journey with Revealing The Stuffs – Giveaway Inside

Revealing The Stuffs is one year baby now. Thanks a lot for your wishes! It won’t be possible if you haven’t encouraged me by visiting, commenting and sharing my posts. Blogging is an activity which taught me a lot of new things in my life. My English improved (sorry if I’m wrong :P),ย  I got several international and national friends and much more.

In this post I’ll be telling the complete story of how this blog created and emerged and finally I’m hosting a giveaway that will benefit bloggers.

The Story:

Story of how the name Revealing The Stuffs created:

This won’t be the lengthy and boring story, don’t worry ๐Ÿ˜‰

Revealing The Stuffs is not my first blog, but it’s my first blog. Confusing? The name of my first blog was “Fun at all” (Sorry for theย hilarious and stupid title :P)

I’ve hated that name myself and changed it to “Stuffs Amazing You”. I’m afraid of purchasing domains online, in that time. I’ve read an article on how to get your free .com domain name. I was curious and rushed to the website and successfully registered the domain name “stuffsamazingyou.com” with the domain registrar “Intuit”. They were offering free domains name that time. Later I’ve read somewhere which made me afraid of having domains at Intuit. I can’t transfer the domain name anywhere, because, according to their rules domain names could be transferred only after 6 months of purchase. So I dumped the domain name.

Then I started thinking of some other domain name that could be brand-able. Some of the names I come across are: How Stuffs works, Awesome stuffs, Useful stuffs. But many of them are already registered. Then suddenly I’ve thought a new name “Revealing The Stuffs” and searched forย http://www.revealingthestuffs.com, whether it was already registered. Luckily, it wasn’t registered. Immediately I changed my domain name in blogger from “alltimethefun.blogspot.com” to “revealingthestuffs.blogspot.com”

Story of how the domain nameย www.revealingthestuffs.comย registered:

Some weeks gone by posting some silly articles in my new blog. Then I got a new friend, Navneet Viswanadha. I’ve found his email address in his blog and invited him to the chat. He seems much friendly. He informed me about the .com domain giveaway on his blog and I submitted my entry. He didn’t got enough entries for the giveaway and he closed it. Some days after he was registering the new domain name techravers.com and he asked me that he will be registering the domain name for me too. I was damn excited. He registered the domain name “revealingthestuffs.com” on 18th September of 2012.

Navneet’s domain name:ย Techravers

Story of how I moved to WordPress:

I was on blogger till 2012. Navneet asked me whether I’m willing to blog on WordPress. Those days, I don’t even know how WordPress blogs look. I really wanted to try WordPress and asked him to host me on his web server. Then I moved to WordPress. Till 25th of this August, I was on his host.

My overall earnings from Revealing The Stuffs:

First Birthday

Speaking truly, I don’t even made even a cent with this blog. I don’t know whether it is due to my laziness or lack of monetizing strategies. I heard from some of my friends “Don’t go for money at the very beginning, Become popular and money will automatically follow you” This made me to do blogging continously without thinking of money.

  9. Hi Sriram,

Congratulations on completion of your first year on blogging and my best wishes for the days ahead!

You’ve really learned a log regarding blogging and the technology involved. Now I believe you can step up to the next level.

Regarding monetization, there can be different methods for different kind of blogs. In case of blogs about blogging you can start researching about useful and popular blogging tools, services, plugins and themes. Present honest reviews and start affiliates. Perhaps this can earn you really good money. I believe ClickBank and PayPal works in your country. In my case I’m lacking these services and missing good opportunity.

The blogs in this niche can also earn through publishing sponsored posts. Keep increasing your site stats and join PostJoin, Teliad, SponsoredReviews and so on. They will produce another stream of monetizing for your blog.

Because you have already got PR 2, let’s wait for the next PR update. Once you are above PR 3, you can start selling Ad spots and text ads in your blog. However, you need to be really careful when you are selling direct Ads and you must do it the right way, otherwise google will frown its brows!

Adsense do not earn much for the blogs of this kind. If you plant to make money through Adsense, you need to go for better keyword research. Perhaps should come up with blogs in some other niche where there are people with money. Advertisers are naturally interested for the blogs whose visitors are people with deeper pockets. You can imagine the visitors visiting our blogs and visitors of Amazon. Hope I made it clearer.

Finally, best of luck for the years to come and we’ll be in touch to discuss more. Congratulations once again!

    1. Thanks a lot for the wishes Suresh sir. Yes, I too found affiliate marketing as a great method. And it needs good connections plus authority and network and good skills to become a successful affiliate marketer. Thanks for listing the resources, I’ll surely check them. It’s sad to hear PayPal and ClickBank are not available in Nepal. Yes I should be careful with links and ads. I’m not doing keyword research.
Thanks for your long and useful comment sir ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Hi Sriram,
